ETA appoints delegation for talks

In a communication to France Press, Basque armed organization Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (Basque Country And Freedom, ETA) has announced the appointment of a delegation to open direct talks with the Spanish and French governments.

The half-century-old guerrilla declares that there exist "sufficient conditions" to advance in the process and that further delays could cause "harmful situations of blockade".

Original communication in Basque, Spanish and French, English

The official reaction of the Spanish government has been to reject any negotiations and demanding the unconditional dissolution of the Basque paramilitary group. Position that counts with the acritical support of France.
