Coal miners held yesterday yet another day of protests in several cities and towns. The most numerous one was at León:
They demand the persistence of the state subsidies that allow Spanish coal to be competitive in international markets. Otherwise whole districts would be dumped into unemployment and misery in a time when there are no economic alternatives and when unemployment in Spain includes some 1/4 of all workers, much more among a youth that sees no future nor even present at all.
