Sampedro: "the Capitalist System is nearly over"

El sistema capitalista se acaba (the Capitalist System is ending) proclaimed the venerable Catalan author and economist José Luis Sampedro[es] in a conference in Valencia.

The author of the memorable novel The Etruscan Smile and collector of literary prizes, who was also Professor of Economic Structure in the Complutense University of Madrid, unofficially proclaimed what some of us already know: that the Capitalist System and what he calls the Age of Money, initiated some five centuries ago, is into a terminal metamorphosis.

He also said that this end is already being very painful and that the younger people are already with one foot beyond Capitalism.

He criticized that public money is wasted in banks at the expense of salaries and public services.
