Nuclear nightmare, antinuclear awakening

After the Chernobyl catastrophe of 1986, 5 mS/year was enough for Soviet authorities to decree evacuation. Today in Japan 20 times that figure, 100 mS/year is claimed to be safe for pregnant women and children. The head of this macabre circus is some Dr. Shunichi Yamashita who is as ignorant and arrogant to claim that:

The effects of radiation do not come to people that are happy and laughing. They come to people that are weak-spirited, that brood and fret.

In other words: a reality denialist. Someone who is there only to hide the ugly truth, not to face it and protect the people. Someone who should be put on trial and probably executed for crimes against humanity.

This was revealed in an interview with Takanori Eto at Democracy Now!

This is of course not the only bad news that you can read at Energy News. It is however the most outraging one probably: how the citizens of Japan (and by extension all the World) are being totally ignored and sent to their slow deaths in another desperate attempt to hide the massive irreversible destruction caused by their short sighted ambition.

On the positive side, we can see the peoples of the World going out to protest and, in the case of Italians, they have the unique opportunity to make sure by democratic vote that the nuclear nightmare is not reignited in the peninsula. In 1990, Italy shut down all its nuclear reactors as reaction to the 1986 Chernobly catastrophe, but now that decadent buffoon that is Silvio Berlusconi is trying to reinitiate the nuclear program.

The project has been sent to referendum and Italians has the option to reject or approve it:

Also in France there have been demonstrations against nuclear energy.
