Basque Country: military police imposes state of emergency in Navarrese town

The Spanish military police corps Guardia Civil occupied on May 12th the town of Barañain (Navarre), threatening the population and impeding any concentration of more than 20 people, just as used to happen under Fascism.

The reason, the pretext? A Basque political prisoner, Xabier Sagardoi, was returning home after spending years in the Spanish prisons and there was a welcome act.
