NATO accused of using depleted uranium bombs in Libya

There is an interesting report at Uruknet today on the more than likely use of depleted uranium
(DU) bombs by NATO forces in Libya. It includes the following RT video:

DU bombs are used because the material is cheap (nuclear energy production residue nobody wants) and has a great penetration power but it also has a half life of 4.5 billion years (radiation is forever), what makes places bombed by these weapons in Bosnia, Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan and now also Libya, perpetually contaminated. Some specific sites as Fallujah (Iraq) are so polluted that one out of four newborns arrives with horrible mutational health problems.

UN agencies have asked for a ban of DU weapons but big nuclear powers like the USA, UK, France and Israel oppose it.
