Bradley Manning nominated for Peace Nobel

US Antimilitarists have gathered more than 100,000 signatures asking for the Nobel Prize of Peace to be given to US imprisoned dissident Bradley Manning, who helped to reveal the brutality of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and who, after suffering years of torture in the brutal military prisons of the Washington regime faces the equivalent to a life penalty in a trial with zero guarantees.

Norman Solomon, member of Roots Action, gave the 103,000 signatures to Nowegian MP and member of the Peace Prize committee Asle Toje. However he declared that: the Peace Nobel needs more Bradley Manning than Bradley Manning the Nobel Price. Nowadays there are many questions about the compromise of the Nobel Committee with human rights and peace in an equanimous and independent manner.
