USA: police or terrorist occupation forces?

This happened in Georgia (USA), just a few days ago, police equipped as soldiers and acting as the most brutal occupation forces I've seen outside Palestine, attack a peaceful antifascist demo:

Catalonia nullifies Franco's "justice"

Companys in prison
Believe it or not, in Spain the illegal totalitarian actions of the Fascist dictatorship of Franco are still within the law. The Parliament of Catalonia, in the process of active secession from Spain, has been the first one to declare some of them null.

Specifically the Catalan Parliament declared yesterday all military trials under Franco to be null and void of any juridical effect. Better late than never, I guess.

One of the most infamous such military trials was the one against Catalan President Lluis Companys (ERC), who was killed as result.

In spite of some 40 years passing since the (way too peaceful) death of the tyrant, almost nothing has been done in Spain to counter the effects of the fascist tyranny. Only now, under the cover of a very limited Law of Historical Memory, local governments have begun to rename streets that were apologetic of fascism, remove statues of Franco and other fascist icons, unearth the remains of some of the victims of Fascist terror, scattered by the roadsides of the country, etc. However resistance is not trivial, mostly from the ranks of the ruling "Christian-Democratic" party PP and the Catholic Church (which in Spain is extremely conservative and has been losing adepts without remedy since decades ago).

Finland: nazis murder Jim Joonas Karttunen

Nazis of the SVL organization attacked and severely injured Antifascist activist Jim Joonas Karttunen on September 10th. Today 20th, he died of his injuries at hospital.

Joonas was protesting the presence of a SVL propaganda stand near the train station of Helsinki when he was brutally attacked by the Nazis, who beat him brutally on the ground, causing him a major concussion which eventually killed him.

Days later the Nazi organization uploaded a video to YouTube claiming responsibility and stating that "counter-protesters must be disciplined".

It is not the first time that the SVL is involved in criminal attacks: in 2013 they already stabbed a protester in Jyväskylä. In that occasion one of the attackers was found a pen-drive with detailed information about more than 300 "political enemies", including antifascists, greens, socialdemocrats, conservatives and Jewish personalities.

In 2011, Anonymous revealed the details of many SVL militants and sympathizers, including a prominent member of the True Finns party (xenophobic fascistoids, currently partner in the Finnish government), Juho Eerola, who eventually resigned. This implies that the SVL, part of a wider Nordic and Nordicist network, led by the Swedish SVR, are not a mere marginal and minor group but actually a violent shock squad satellite of the other fascists, who pretend to be a "normal" party, just like Le Pen in France.

Beware because all those fascists, not at all different from Islamic Fundamentalists, are gaining positions in most of Europe very dangerously and we can too easily slide into a new version of 1933 in no time.

Thanks Jim for fighting against Fascism to the very last of your forces. If we are to overcome this horrible threat, it won't be for those who sit in the sidelines watching but for true heroes like you. Let Mother Earth be gentle on you as you were to Her.

Heroes of our time: the man who rescues slaves from DAESH

I was really moved when I watched this documentary yesterday. It is about the plea of the women enslaved by the so-called Islamic State (DAESH) and the former smuggler who works tirelessly to rescue them, Abu Shuja. Must watch:

Fundamentalist pincer against Kurdish civilians

The Western-armed "Islamic State" has attacked the Kurdish town of Kobanê (also known as Ayn al-Arab), causing the flight of some 70,000 civilians to Northern Kurdistan, under Turkish occupation. The Islamist government of Ankara, known to be the most unconditional supporter of Ibrahim's "Caliphate", has closed the artificial colonial border, which runs along the Istanbul-Baghdad railroad through this part of Kurdistan.

Thousands of Northern Kurds have been pushing towards the barbed-wire occupation line with the intent of helping the refugees or even joining the struggle against the Islamists. As the Turkish occupation forces wouldn't let them move freely, clashes began near the checkpoint.

A large number of civilians remain trapped south of the occupation line (→ video) without food nor water after being forced to run for their lives as the Islamist forces advanced around Kobanê destroying everything.

As happens with the Yezidi refugees taken under the protection of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the Turkish state is not at all willing to help them even passively, regardless of the fact that the PKK and Ankara have been in a stable truce for a whole year now. The attitude of Ankara has been all the time to support the Islamic State and favor their war crimes. Thousands of Ibrahim's fanatic followers are Turkish, the Turkish Army has trained Islamic State's thugs in NATO's most important airbase in the region: Incirlik (what implies also US participation and blessing) and, while closing the occupation line to Kurds, has allowed the border to remain open for the Islamist terrorists.

Much as in Ukraine or Palestine: NATO, the US Empire and its many puppets, means fascist dictatorship and terror for the civilians everywhere, whose lives become incidental to the power-mongering of the imperialist forces and totally expendable. Kurdistan is no exception and, especially considering that the Kurdish forces have one of the most advanced socio-political analysis in our West Eurasian region, they deserve all the solidarity we can muster: because they are the only good guys and girls in all the region, the only ones who seem to have clear priorities of equality, freedom and respect and not some fanatic fascist agenda that only serves the oligarchs of the World at the expense of the people.

The Humanist ideals in West Asia are spelled "Kurdistan", let's give them all our support, let's smash those fascists!

Ukraine: Mariupol surrounded by the Militia: fascists and NATO officers inside

The latest news from Ukraine are that the Antifascist Militias advanced very clearly in the South of Donetsk People's Republic surrounding two new pockets of variegated Junta troops, which include police forces, the remnants of the Nazi battalions "Azov" and "Dnepr" and six NATO officers. These Western officers, specialists in informatics, were in charge of the propaganda war but somehow ended up in the frontline (almost certainly because the Junta lacks loyal troops and even loyal commanders) and now they seem to be trapped in the port city of Mariupol, whose citizenry clearly stands with the rebels.

The Militia's advance towards the coast has been dramatic as can be seen in the following maps, which show the situation on mid-August and the end of the month:

Overall military situation in August 14-24

Mariupol surrounded in August 29th

Meanwhile the Junta only seems able to make bombardments of civilian buildings in Lugansk, where several apartment buildings and a school were destroyed, and Donetsk (no details reported). Meanwhile, in a single day, they lost 7 tanks, 28 other armored vehicles, 22 other vehicles, two missile launchers type "Grad".

Teens against fascism

Also Kristina Rus mentions in her Facebook page the emotive story of 72 teenagers, too young to be allowed to join the Militia but who were not willing to see their hometowns taken by the Nazis, so they organized their own resistance:
Battalion "Youth Self-defence" consisted of 72 16-18 year olds from Lisichansk and Severodonetsk, who were too young to join the militia, but wanted to defend their cities. 24 girls joined the battalion. 72 kids held Lisichansk for 2 days by themselves against 2,000 fighters of National Guard, when Mozgovoi's battalion "Ghost" left the city, waiting for reserves from Lugansk. They were armed with just AK's, 3 machine guns and 2 sniper rifles. Neutralized several dozen national guardsmen, 3 armed vehicles and 2 Grads. When they began to retreat to Alchevsk, after realizing that no help is coming, they were shelled with Grad, and 18 of them were killed. So, 18 of them won't be going back to high-school or college this fall ...

Ukraine: Anarchist guerrilla arises in Zaporozhia

Nestor Makhno
The most striking recent development in Ukraine's war against Fascism is the raising of an Anarchist guerrilla, named Makhno Battalion, which is operating behind the lines not just in Zaporozhia but also in Dniepropetrovsk.

Their ideology is rather different from the more generically nationalist slogans that often dominate the discourse in the rebel Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, figuring among them the goal of liberating all Ukraine from Fascism and not just certain regions. They are also different from the fake "anarchists" financed by Western oligarchs like George Soros to create confusion, which have been spreading disinformation about what is actually happening in Ukraine.

The Makhno Battalion first attacked a column of the Fascist National Guard, accompanied by US military advisors, on August 7th, destroying several tanks.

On August 21st they attacked again the National Guard in the region of Dniepropetrovsk. The Fascist unit was retreating from Ilovaysk, where they had been previously crushed by the Donbass Militia. The bounty was Zionist-made body armors and machine guns Fort-221.

Other developments

With date of August 21st, Euskal Herria - Donbass Solidarity Committee, mirrors another military report in English (originally from Novorossiya News Agency) which briefly mentions a number of battles, particularly around Lutgino, where the Junta's forces have managed to make a limited but potentially dangerous breakthrough, which is being countered by Militia's counter-attacks and some successful defense actions.

They also mention Militia's progress around Slavyanoserbsk and a clear advance to the North of Lugansk, still in development at the time of this report. Most enemy forces are described as "Nazis", what suggests that they are either part of the National Guard or the armored battalions organized by the oligarchs, all them full of Banderista fanatics. Regular troops are only mentioned in relation with the pocket of Zhdanovka, where they have been systematically besieged and punished by the Militia since weeks ago.

In general terms there would seem that there is not any more a regular Ukrainian Army worth that name, just Fascist units in rather difficult situation.

The Basque Solidarity Committee also mentions[es] that the the Russian humanitarian aid trucks have successfully arrived to Lugansk in spite of the Junta's bombings, sanctioned by NATO, which claims that sending humanitarian aid is a "violation of sovereignty". No mention to the many crimes against humankind committed by the Junta, of course, let alone their absolute lack of legitimacy.

Ukraine: Junta's offensive stagnates, "mad" bombing of chemical facility

At the Basque Country - Donbass Solidarity Committee you can read the latest war report from Novorossiya (translated to English by Gleb Bazov):

Overall, it is becoming increasingly clear that the widely publicized offensive on Donetsk has, as expected, amounted to zilch. The Ukrainian Armed Forces does not have any more strength. It simply does not. And that is all. Moreover, the Junta forces are facing several simultaneous catastrophes on the local scale, which can become operational-tactical in nature and then strategic.

In Donetsk Republic, they report of successful encircling operations in the last week, retaking most of the border with Russia and capturing many armored vehicles. Similar results were achieved in the Northern front. Also fierce fighting around the strategic area of Ilovaisk with clear victories for the Militia, while the Western sector remained idle except for the incident of a bunch of Nazis in a bus who suicidally attacked a militia control point and were massacred.

Latest military map (click to enlarge)

In Lugansk Republic the hostilities were essentially related to the Russian humanitarian convoy, which triggered the Junta's desire to cut the road supplying Lugansk at Novosvetlovka-Khryashchevatoye. After an initial apparent success caused by surprise, the attack was fully defeated, crushing one of the Fascist units financed by the Ukrainian oligarchs: Battalion Aidar, as well as a tank company and a motorized infantry company of the regular Army. Further popular victories, with still ongoing artillery fire, were reported in Novosvetlovka.

They also mention the adjustments (resignations-cum-new-nominations) in the command of both militias, which are now gathered as a unified Army with pan-Ukrainian aspirations.

However I can't but raise my eyebrows to this comment:
The centralization of the military command will also oust the remnants of Makhnovism, which have been discrediting the movement.
How could Makhnovism (Anarchism, Libertarian Communism) discredit the movement and which are the goals of the Novorossiya Federation if Makhnovism is so problematic for them?

In any case, they emphasize that, after the many crushing victories of the Militias in the last weeks, the limelight has been transferred from the regular Army, extremely damaged, to what they call "militarized battalions", i.e. Fascist units financed by the oligarchs, units that, in spite of their fanaticism, are not at all comparable with the, properly trained and equipped, regular troops.

They conclude with an evaluation of military capacity, which has been technically equalized but is clearly better in the fields of moral and operational quality for the Militia. They suggest that a critical change is about to happen.

Bombing of chemical plant

The Spanish volunteers Rafa and Ángel (pictured) report at Webguerrillero[es] that the Junta has bombed the chemical residues' processing plant of Gorlovka in yet another war crime, that risks the health and lives of the peoples of the wider region, not just the rebel republics.

Update: a second military report mentions growing guerrilla activities behind Ukrainian lines

Basque Country - Donbass Solidarity Committee just published another military report, which partly overlaps with the one mentioned above.

They discuss the murky issue of the black market of weapons, which affects both sides and the Russian mafias, and some ongoing battles in Donetsk People's Republic such as stopping the enemy at Yasinovataya, inflicting them severe losses at Nizhnyaya Krynka, repeat that the attempts to capture Ilovaisk have been all repealed and list some of the losses inflicted to the Junta's troops (known as "Ukies") in the besieged enclave of Saur-Mogila tumulus (called "mountain" in the report but actually an artificial hill from Prehistory).

The most mentioned town is Gorlovka (Horlivka in Ukranian), where the Militia claims to be encircling the "Ukies" after repealing the last attacks by the Junta's forces.

Contrary to the other report, this one has a more cautious forecast and advises that before the junta’s offensive in the area to the south of Debaltsevo is rebuffed and Novosvetlovka recaptured, all talk about the crisis being overcome is premature.

Even more interesting, I believe, is that, largely because of the lack of operative capabilities of the Ukrainian forces, the rear-guard is pretty much without watch and a still incipient guerrilla has began attacking the Fascist positions here and there. Considering that the actual civic support for the Junta is very weak in most of Ukraine and that the Nazi death squads have been largely sent to the front to replace the vanishing regular troops, I would say that it is very likely that guerrilla will become widespread throughout the country very soon, possibly triggering the collapse of the Junta altogether, particularly if the Novorossiya resistance becomes offensive and marches over Kharkov and other largely Russian-speaking cities, maybe even to Kiev itself.

Interview in English with Borotba (Ukranian libertarian communists): They hate us because we are communists

Excerpt:
Our organization now is under strong attack by the Kiev regime. One of our comrades, Andrej Brajevsky, was killed during the massacre in Odessa on May 2nd, many of our leaders are on a wanted-list of the government’s prosecution office, some leading comrades are still in Ukraine but they are working now under very dangerous conditions. Neo-Nazi gangs tried to kidnap Denis Levin and Svitlana Likht in Charkov[1].

All of our offices were destroyed and partly occupied by fascists. The so called National Guard, that was created from right-wing paramilitary forces from the Maidan and that is now the legal disguise for them, attacked our last office in Charkow.[2]

A few days ago our fellow activist Maria Matushenko was kidnapped from her apartment in Dnipropetrovsk. She was kidnapped by the secret police, who took all electronic devices of her family (two laptops, four cell phones, one tablet PC). Later she was released and fled the country. Other comrades have been arrested and tortured by the police in Charkow. Police officers tried to receive information about the whereabouts of our leading comrades. Many comrades have left their apartments in order not to get arrested.

At the moment we have no political democracy in our country, instead we are confronted with a civil war in Ukraine.

Nazis killed in battle

Twelve stormtroopers of the Nazi party Pravy Sektor (Right Sector) died under the Militias' gunfire after they attacked a control point near Donetsk. The Nazis arrived in an unidentified bus to the control point and attacked it killing one militiaman. The quick and effective response by his comrades nevertheless took the lives of twelve of the attackers (initially reported as seven)

Holocaust survivors condemn Gaza genocide and denounce growing Nazification of "Israel"

247 Jewish survivors of Nazi death camps have already signed the following letter condemning the Gaza genocide:

Jewish survivors and descendents of survivors of Nazi genocide unequivocally condemn the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza

As Jewish survivors and descendents of survivors of the Nazi genocide we unequivocally condemn the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and the ongoing occupation and colonization of historic Palestine. We further condemn the United States for providing Israel with the funding to carry out the attack, and Western states more generally for using their diplomatic muscle to protect Israel from condemnation. Genocide begins with the silence of the world.

We are alarmed by the extreme, racist dehumanization of Palestinians in Israeli society, which has reached a fever-pitch. In Israel, politicians and pundits in The Times of Israel and The Jerusalem Post have called openly for genocide of Palestinians and right-wing Israelis are adopting Neo-Nazi insignia.

Furthermore, we are disgusted and outraged by Elie Wiesel’s abuse of our history in these pages to promote blatant falsehoods used to justify the unjustifiable: Israel’s wholesale effort to destroy Gaza and the murder of nearly 2,000 Palestinians, including many hundreds of children. Nothing can justify bombing UN shelters, homes, hospitals and universities. Nothing can justify depriving people of electricity and water.

We must raise our collective voices and use our collective power to bring about an end to all forms of racism, including the ongoing genocide of Palestinian people. We call for an immediate end to the siege against and blockade of Gaza. We call for the full economic, cultural and academic boycott of Israel. “Never again” must mean NEVER AGAIN FOR ANYONE!

Whole Uki brigade surrenders to the Rebels

The Ukranian 72nd Brigade surrendered to the Novorossiya militias, it was reported yesterday, August 4th, after being surrounded between the Rebel forces and the Russian border and running short of ammunition and rations. They were demanded to leave their weapons and hardware and cross to Russia.

Some pockets of resistance remain among groups of Fascists and Polish mercenaries. The Rebel source suggests that therefore total surrender is unlikely but that the so-called "Southern Cauldron" (between Russia and the area held by the Novorossiya Federation) is anyhow in the last stages of its existence.

Map showing the "Southern Cauldron" and the Antifascist advance

Colonel Cassad says that:
I expect that this group will cease to exist in the course of 2-3 days, following which the Cauldron will shrink in half, and the Militia will start dealing with the remnants of the 24th and the 79th Brigades.

Ukraine: Junta offensive fails, Transcarpathia to secede

The latest offensive of the Kiev Junta against the Eastern Antifascists seems to be failing (again). The attack, which has managed to cut Donetsk from its ally Lugansk is finding major resistance and the route between both cities is expected to be reopened soon, simplifying the front and liberating militias for the other fronts.

Meanwhile the Militia has stopped Fascist attacks from the South near Shkatersk and Saur-Mogily. Kiev acknowledges the loss of seven cargo airplanes. Hundreds of Ukrainian troops have deserted (again) and crossed the border with Russia.

The military situation is still complicated but the moral of the Militia is high and their capacity to repel the Fascist aggression admirable. Instead in the other side of the front line the moral is almost zero, with most soldiers being forced recruits, used as slave cannon fodder between the rebel lines and the Nazi death squads.

The war report underlines that, while the Junta could have best exploited its success in Slavyansk by slowly besieging the rebel core and punishing it with artillery and bombings, they decided to launch a "decisive" attack, attack which was stopped on its heels by the Militia, by defeating a column of not less than 250 tanks.

With most forces trapped in protracted battles in Gorlovka and Debaltsevo, as well as suffering rebel counter-attacks in Popasnoye and Depreradovka, the Junta was unable to transfer troops to the Southern front, which has remained static.

In the Lugansk front also the Militia was able to impede the Fascist attack against the key town of Novosvetlovka, a road knot, inflicting severe casualties to the attackers as well as capturing many soldiers.

In Krasnodon the combat has resolved in favor of the Militia, which is annihilating the last Border Guards. The Militia's positions were improved also at Georgievka and Cheluskinets, keeping the airport's blockade.

Other areas however remain unstable.

Time plays against Kiev

I suspect that the, probably misguided, urgency that the Kievan Junta displays is caused by the ultimatum which hangs over their heads: defeat the rebels before September or lose NATO's support. I can't be sure how real or exact is this threat but it has been rumored since months ago.

One thing is clear: if the conflict remains open in winter, when not just Ukraine but much of Europe is highly dependent on Russian gas supplies, the situation may become extremely complicated, not just for a Kievan regime unable to guarantee warmth to its citizens but also for the European states that support it.

New rebels in the West

While the Ukrainian Nazis have their main support base in Galitzia (formerly Poland), there is a Western region that has remained clear of them: Transcarpathia. This oblast, once part of Czechoslovakia and earlier of Hungary, is populated by Rusines (an Ukrainian subpopulation) and Hungarians and has denied the Ukrainian Far Right their vote repeatedly, supporting instead the Party of the Regions and other Center-Left options.

It seems that, in spite of being far from Russia, Transcarpathia has also begun its own secessionist process and hopes to open a "second front" against the Fascist Junta in Kiev. Apparently the details are being ultimated right now and the rebellion may soon be in the news - if not censored by the so called "free media" of the Western oligarchs.

This, together with the failure in the Eastern Front and the well known discontent throughout the country with the Fascist Regime, may well end up with the masquerade. I hope it does at least.

Police repression of solidarity with Palestine in Paris - 50,000 march in London for Gaza

As I mentioned before the fascistoid Government of Manuel Valls tried to forbid a demonstration of solidarity with Gaza in Paris. In the last minute the courts reversed the Government's decision and authorized it but by then only the New Anticapitalist Party was standing for the march, legal or not.

For two hours the demonstration, which gathered several thousands, marched through Paris chanting "we all are Palestinians", "no to Gaza blockade", "Israel assassin, Hollande accomplice", etc.

However at 16:20 police attacked the march, apparently unprovoked, triggering a street battle around the North Rail Station of the city.

In England instead everything was more peaceful and some 50,000 people (up to 100,000, according to some sources) marched through the streets of London in support of the victims of Zionist murderous madness.

Novorossiya reports suggest widespread defeat of Ukrainian Army

While the report is authored by the Lugansk People's Republic Militia, what implies an unhidden bias, I find it quite interesting that they are able to report so many details on Ukraine's military defeats, desertions and disorganization.

They report:
  • Sustained loses on a failed Ukrainian offensive
  • Liberation of Marinovka
  • Several military jets' being hit
  • Three "Uki" brigades fleeing in panick
  • Many desertions, even among Nazi death squads' ranks: On the hottest parts of the front, Ukies have been observed throwing away their weapons, taking off their military markings, with some even removing their uniforms and changing into civilian clothes, and running toward the Russian border. Those who have no civilian clothes with them run with peeled-off epaulets. Some, and, in particular, members of the punitive battalions and Praviy Sector militants, have been seen stripping to their underwear.

It seems quite apparent that, while the Kiev Junta may have the theoretical means, in the field of morale and actual effective fighting, it is the Popular Republics who are doing a lot better.

A song from the Southeast (of Ukraine)

A bit of way too pop for my taste but at least it begins with rhythms from The Clash. The lyrics are quite cool anyhow and reflect the difficult struggle of the Southeastern Ukrainian Antifascists against the rebirth of Nazi terror in Europe. This is not just their struggle: it is something that unavoidably affects all Europeans and even beyond.

Translated lyrics:

Southeast!

My head is broken by disturbing dreams...
the air smells to civil war.
Nervous, they hit me, hammering...
a name jumps to the headlines: Southeast!

It is hard to fight cold and heat...
after so many years of hard work... we went backwards,
always controlled, there is no more time
grabbing a gun, the Southeast arises!

After the mad hope... there is a desperate cry,
miner rage... for the empty pockets,
how different to what books preach,
if we create soviets, partisans will come!

(Chorus)
Any person, via Internet, far away or close by,
will transmit... from the heart:
Peace in the cabins, peace in the huts,
war, war, war to the palaces!

Crawling in its tomb again, the brown plague,
came to the streets... blowing up the homes,
filling with the temples with carmine blood,
the Brest fortress is now the Southeast!

The thieves of the World want to eat,
gulping the peoples... in sandwiches for dinner,
but they have a knot in their throats and cannot swallow:
the path is blocked to the shameless ones, in the Southeast!

Day and night they stand guard,
full of illussions, of fears... tired of tricks and deceit,
but these people make history by themselves,
if we create soviets, partisans will arise!

(Chorus)

Believe me: borders are not so important
and what we have here is not paradise,
but the memory of the fallen that once lived here,
warms us up for struggle and to live today this way.

For each of them, for the comrade and brother,
let us put a knee on the ass of the fattened rats,
the date of the outcome is coming, its deadline.
The paths are being opened towards the Southeast!

Southeast!

Navarre: institutional apology of historical fascist terror protected by today's fascist prohibition of protest

Rally poster
The rally called by Ahaztuak 1936-1977 for Friday in Pamplona was suspended after the Spanish Government forbade it and therefore would have been attacked by police forces, making protest nearly impossible and most risky.

The rally, which has been moved to the next weekend, was meant to protest for the institutional apology of fascist terrorism by the Spanish Army's infamous "America 66" regiment, which raped and murdered many citizens in Valdedios, Asturias, in 1937.

The regiment, still active, is being institutionally honored for their alleged "service to Spain" with an exposition in the Citadel of Pamplona (a fortress meant to control the oft rebellious city) with the support of the far-right unionist city council.

The popular anger about this act of fascist apology by the neo-Francoist Spanish Regime is so strong that the authorities ordered to protect the citadel with a massive police deployment.

Four antimilitarist activists of the Conscientious Objection Movement (KEM-MOC, War Resistants International) attempted to enter the fascist exposition dressed in denounce costumes as publicity men but were impeded to do so by police.

United Left has denounced the exposition at court.

For the organizers, Ahaztuak 1936-1977 (The Forgotten Ones 1936-1977, an association dedicated to the recovering of the historical memory and denounce of the many crimes against Humankind of the Spanish Fascist regime):
The prohibition is another instance of the persistence of the Spanish model of impunity that we have denounced since long ago, a model where the insult to the victims of Francoism and the impunity of their aggressors are combined; the continuous obstacles to mobilizations and claims by the victims of Fascism, together with all the facilitations and praise for the Francoist criminals; the abandonment by the institutions of our denounces and claims, together with the help and support by those same institutions to the Francoist criminals via subsidies and homages like this one we pretend to denounce... a prohibition that furthermore takes place in a city that, to greater shame, still retains other Francoist symbols: a mausoleum "to the fallen for God and for Spain", were putschist generals Mola and Sanjurjo rest and are honored yearly by their acolytes.

Ukraine: mass bombing of Slavyansk by Junta, Nazis try to seize nuclear reactor

Webguerrillero[es], citing Interfax, reports brutal shelling of residential and central areas of the city of Slavyansk, half-way between Donetsk and Kharkov.

Relatedly there are intense combats in the area of the Zevs-Keramika manufacture and apparently also in the city center, as well as in the outskirts of the besieged city.

There are no victim figures yet but the fact that housing areas are being bombed probably implies many civilian casualties.

According to the Mayor of Slavyansk, Vyacheslav Ponomariov, the attackers suffered at least 650 casualties, as well as many injured and captured personnel, only between the 2 and 12 of May. They also lost eight helicopters, a Hummer vehicle, three cannons, six light tanks and four tanks.

Zero tolerance against fascism: Erronkari mobilizes against fascist intrusion

This Sunday a handful of Spanish fascists traveled to such a remote location as Erronkari, in NE Navarre, to hold a political rally with a pseudo-ecologist pretext. The counter-mobilization of the people of this Pyrenean valley forced them to march through the mountains to reach the bus that would bring them back to Hell, wherever in Spain that is.

Only intense military police protection impeded that they were lynched on the spot.
