Pilgrim Nuclear Generating Station, which is located South of Boston: in Plymouth (Massachusetts), lost power on Friday and the emergency generator did not work as expected. However the problem, allegedly caused by a human error, was solved in a minute and was treated as a minor incident.
However yesterday the plant lost power again. Three diesel generators are the only ones providing power to the plant right now.
It is quite ironic that a facility designed to provide electric energy is so dependent on external sources of electricity, more so being so extremely dangerous if external power is lost.
