Colombia: labor leader murdered

Colombia is the place of the World where being a worker activist or in general a left-wing political activist may cost you dearest. It seemed like Honduras, another US-supported dictatorship, was on the path of taking this macabre record but fascist violence is still most serious in the South American country.

Daniel Aguirre Piedrahita (pictured), Secretary General of the union of sugarcane cutters (SINALCORTEROS) was murdered on April 27th in the town of Florida (Valle del Cauca).

Daniel Aguirre was active in strikes and organization, as well as information spreading and the struggle against the Free Trade Agreement that makes Colombia a de facto colony of the USA, since 2005. SINALCORTEROS and other unions have called for the immediate clarification of the crime, however we all know who are the murderers, right?
