The Mauthausen-Gusen death camp, built under Nazi command in Austria, was intended for political prisoners. Some 200,000 people were murdered there (120-320,000), all them committed antifascists from all Europe.
The camp was abandoned by the SS guards on May 3rd and reached by US troops on May 5th.
