Mapuche prisoners end hunger strike after obtaining concessions

According to Gara, most Mapuche prisoners, who have held a hunger strike for more than two months, have abandoned it after the Chilean government accepted to reform the anti-terrorist law.

The agreement includes retrieval of standing accusations based on the anti-terrorist law, that the accused will be judged by civilian judges in the term of five days and correct the attributions of military justice.

The government also said that it has not anymore the conviction that the prisoners can be accused of terrorism.

The comuneros in Angol prison will only today, except one who has joined the agreement already, decide if they quit the hunger strike.
