Moroccan dictatorship begins political trial against Sahrawis

Pro-Sahrawi demo at Madrid in 2010.
Maybe you still remember the Moroccan massacres of Sahrawi protesters that preceded the "Arab Spring" of 2011 by just a few months. Maybe you recall that they set up a camp at the outskirts of El Aaiun, the capital of West Sahara, and that this peaceful camp was razed by Moroccan colonial troops, not before murdering some kids taking part in it.

This first attack was followed by a media blackout and a huge anti-Native pogrom at El Aaiun with support of France and Spain.

Now the occupant power, Morocco, is staging a political trial under military jurisdiction, against 24 participants in the Justice and Dignity Camp accusing them of belonging to "armed gang", which is obviously a lie.

From Kasama:

6 Occupy activists convicted in Seattle: Sentencing Sept. 20

On August 31 six Occupy activists were convicted of criminal trespass after a four-day jury trial Seattle Municipal Court. They were accused of participating in an act of civil disobedience demanding the resignation of Seattle police chief John Diaz – a man notorious for ordering violent attack on Occupy Seattle and for the daily police brutality against the people.

A sentencing hearing for these six people will be held on September 20 in Seattle.

One of the accused was convicted on an additional charge of “obstruction of a public official.”

The six people now facing sentencing are Liam Wright, Blake, Danielle, Kristin, Bryce Phillips, and Miles Partman. Two are supporters of Seattle’s Red Spark collective and the national Kasama network. Two were part of the Chase 5.

A seventh defendant received a mistrial – but may now face a new prosecution on this charge.

Killing immigrants in Spain is cheap: policemen who killed a Nigerian while deporting get away with a €600 fine. Outrageous!

Two police agents who irregularly gagged a Nigerian immigrant with duck tape in 2007 while in deportation transit, who died as result, got away at court with a ridiculous fine of €600.

The agreement between the state attorney and the other state workers (police agents) was facilitated by some other state workers (forsenic experts), who claimed that the gagging was not the direct cause of the death but that it was caused by stress and lack of oxygen.

I really can't imagine how being gagged with duck tape can't cause stress and lack of oxygen... but guess that, following that kind of logic, they can shoot someone and claim that the bullet (never mind the hand pulling the trigger) was not the direct cause of death but a complex set of factors like a hole in the head and heavy brain spill.

Sadly it is not any joke: a person was killed and the culprits have got away easily. They will probably kill again and that time it may be you... or me.
