This is a very local news item but letting you know that if you're dropping by Bilbao this week, there are partial strikes in the subway on 21st, 23rd, 24th and 25th (one hour by the morning and one by the evening). This has been triggered by a decree forcing metro employees to work on Christmas night.
Also commerce workers are going on strike on the 23rd and 24th against excess work time, part time contracts and low salaries.

Update (Dec 20): the metro strike has been finally called off after the direction made a new offer, which was accepted. It is remarkable that the Town Hall and some reactionary media have been attacking the collectivity of subway workers in a most intolerable way proper of the worst bourgeois petty thought.
On the other hand the shops' strike goes ahead and workers of at least 12 major stores have already adhered.
